Daan Manneke: “For several years, I have been working with the wizard accordion player Vincent van Amsterdam. At my request, he arranged – and played – two pieces for his instrument, Trois Petites Symphonies (1967) and Tombeau pour Ton de Leeuw (1996). These works were originally written for organ and violoncello (gamba) respectively. On the CD, in addition to these solo contributions, Van Amsterdam fulfills the role of a ‘concertante’ continuo player.”
